Sleep Consultant Services

A sleep consultant is an experienced, knowledgeable and nurturing professional that comes alongside a family to help prevent and solve sleep issues in babies and children.  A sleep consultant assesses and evaluates sleep issues and presents options and information to families so they can make the best decision for themselves.  A sleep consultant can also help you implement your chosen sleep strategies so the whole household can get a good night sleep.

A sleep consultant is a valuable member of your support team and supports you and your family by:

  • providing physical, emotional & educational support
  • providing accurate information in all areas of sleep specific to the age of your child
  • assesses & evaluates your situation, needs & desires
  • creates an individual sleep plan with you for your family
  • aids in implementing your sleep plan via phone & email support
  • offers in home support
What method do you use?
Baby Daze believes that there is no "perfect" method for guiding babies and young children to develop good sleep habits.  It is usually takes a combination of different methods tailored to the needs and personality of the parents and child.
 
Can I do the sleep guiding myself?
Absolutely!  We encourage parents to obtain the information and support that they need to implement the plan themselves.  Most sleep issues can be solved by parents.  We are here to guide and support you as you go through the process.
 
What age do recommend starting program?
We focus mainly on children 4 months – 5 years.  But will work with older children as well.  It is important to talk to your doctor to ensure that there is no medical reason why your child is experiencing sleep issues.
 
I have a newborn, can I sleep train?
We do not recommend sleep consultant services before 4 months of age as newborns need the attention they demand.  We do, however, offer postpartum doula services at night that may help you get a good night sleep.  We can also give you some suggestions on how to develop good sleep habits which will lead to better sleep as your little one grows.
 
How long will it take to get my child sleeping through the night?
That is up to you, the method you choose to employ and how consistant you are.  When families work as a team and maintain consistency you can usually see an improvement in about a week.
 
What if my child relapses, such as after a vacation or illness, starting school or the birth of a sibling?
It is very common for sleep issues to come back at these times and the best thing to do is pull out your plan, go back to the beginning and be consistant.  Children "get back on track" quicker each time you follow your plan.  Of course, if you find you need some additional support Baby Daze is here to help you through each of life's transitions.

I have been helping parents develop good sleep habits for their children for over 15 years.
